Our Owner

Stephanie White grew up on thirty acres here at Lake Oconee. Born with a love for animals, she used the “farm” to her advantage. She had dogs and cats. She raised chickens and sold eggs to make spending money. She even had a goat and some calves. At age 11, she showed her first horse, a Tennessee Walking Horse named Royal Flirt, which is a hobby she enjoys to this day. Now she has her own horse farm which she enjoys with her many critters.

Stephanie knew her passion was to have a career caring for animals before she ever graduated from high school. Though her father and mother had their doubts, Stephanie was constantly talking about a future in the “doggy daycare” business. She was determined to prove to them that this was what she was born to do after college. After high school, she headed off to college at Wingate University on a softball scholarship with her sights set on a degree, a successful softball career with her team, and then coming back to Lake Oconee and fulfilling her dreams of working with pets.

In between studies and games, she and her father traveled the world looking at pet resorts. Stephanie made a believer out of her father, and they went to work designing a state-of-the-art facility which Stephanie named Harmony Pet Resort. Harmony Pet Resort opened in November of 2006. Stephanie’s goal has always been to give pets a wonderful place to vacation while their mom and dad were on vacation too! Her recipe for a successful resort is simple: “Pets who have a safe and loving home-away-from home will make for happy pets and happy parents!”

Harmony Pet Resort is the most innovative pet facility in Georgia’s Lake Country. We have planned and designed every detail of this 11,000 square-foot facility around your pet’s comfort and safety. In addition to the resort we have now expanded into another 10,000 square-foot building, 8,000 of which make up our 4 mega daycare playrooms. The rest is for our retail center! With top notch food that’s made right here in the U.S, to collars, leashes, treats, and more, Harmony Pet Resort is your one-stop-shop!

International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA)

The International Boarding & Pet Services Association is a professional business association that provides business resources, industry expertise, staff education and training, certifications, and legislative support for the pet care services industry. IBPSA members include the owners and employees of pet boarding and daycare facilities, groomers, dog walkers, pet sitters, veterinarians, trainers, and holistic care pet care providers.

Professional Animal Care Certification Council (PACCC)

The Professional Animal Care Certification Council is a nonprofit created by a team of industry experts to recognize high quality providers and help them meet the challenge of educating pet parents on the value of a pet care provider’s investment in education and training. PACCC’s mission is to bring independent testing and certification to the pet care services industry by means of stringent testing intended to reflect a professional’s broad knowledge of animal care.

Harmony Pet Resort Vaccination Policy

 
Harmony Pet Resort maintains industry-best vaccination requirements to protect all our guests, and one of the ways we do this is by requiring all pets staying with us to have up-to-date vaccination records on file.  The required vaccinations for dogs include Rabies, Distemper/Lepto/Parvo, Bordetella (every 6 months), and Canine Influenza.  VACCINATION RECORDS MUST BE PROVIDED PRIOR TO YOUR DOG’S STAY WITH US!  To ensure a hassle-free check-in, it helps to make sure we have the vaccination records well before the date of your check-in.  Please email your pet’s vaccine records at least 4 days before your scheduled arrival.
 
Vaccinations should be given at least 5-7 days prior to visiting Harmony Pet Resort for boarding, daycare, grooming or trainingIt is recommended the Bordetella Intranasal vaccination be given at least 24 hours before your pet arrives.
Proof of your pet’s vaccinations will be kept on file.  We prefer vaccination records be delivered in advance of your arrival to help simplify and speed up your check-in.
 
Please email your pet’s vaccination records to:  info@harmonypetresort.com with your dog’s name and “Vaccination Records” in the subject line.
 
Titres are accepted in lieu of vaccinations.
  • DHLPP:  Initial puppy shots required, Booster thereafter every one to three years.
  • Rabies:  At 16 weeks of age, thereafter, as required by law.
  • Bordetella:  Every 6 months or 24 hours prior to boarding.
  • Parainfluenza:  Usually given at 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age as part of the DA2PP schedule.
  • Canine Influenza Virus:  At least 3-4 weeks prior to boarding.  Canine Influenza is given yearly.
 
Should you need for your pet to be vaccinated at the Harmony Crossing Animal Hospital, they would like to see you and your pet before your visit with Harmony Pet Resort.  Please allow 15 minutes for this visit with Harmony Crossing Animal Hospital.
 
While vaccinations are very helpful in preventing the spread of infectious disease, they do not provide 100 percent protection.  Therefore, at Harmony Pet Resort we do our very best to ensure that our facility is as sanitary as possible.  We follow industry standard cleaning procedures and use a state-of-the-art HVAC system to ensure proper ventilation.  We also train our staff to be on the lookout for any signs of illness in any of the pets in our care.
