Why Choose Harmony Pet Resort for Dog Training?

Our training programs are fully customized and designed for maximum retention. Here are just some reasons why our training is so effective.

  • Comfortable overnight accommodations in our climate-controlled lodging area
  • Multiple customized training sessions every day
  • Your dog will work with our professional trainers from Sit Means Sit throughout their program. Training with different individuals helps your dog learn to respond to cues regardless of who gives them.
  • We’ve created a special training environment in a dedicated part of our facility. This allows us to control and change the distractions your dog encounters, such as treats, people, other dogs, or sounds. Practicing cues with distractions helps your dog respond promptly and consistently in real-word scenarios.

Dog Training FAQ

What vaccinations are required for training?

To keep our guests safe and healthy, we require all dogs be up to date on their vaccinations for rabies, distemper combo, Bordetella, and canine influenza.

Harmony Pet Resort Vaccination Policy
Harmony Pet Resort maintains industry-best vaccination requirements to protect all our guests, and one of the ways we do this is by requiring all pets staying with us to have up-to-date vaccination records on file.  The required vaccinations for dogs include Rabies, Distemper/Lepto/Parvo, Bordetella (every 6 months), and Canine Influenza.  VACCINATION RECORDS MUST BE PROVIDED PRIOR TO YOUR DOG’S STAY WITH US!  To ensure a hassle-free check-in, it helps to make sure we have the vaccination records well before the date of your check-in.  Please email your pet’s vaccine records at least 4 days before your scheduled arrival.

Vaccinations should be given at least 5-7 days prior to visiting Harmony Pet Resort for boarding, daycare, grooming or training.  It is recommended the Bordetella Intranasal vaccination be given at least 24 hours before your pet arrives.
Proof of your pet’s vaccinations will be kept on file.  We prefer vaccination records be delivered in advance of your arrival to help simplify and speed up your check-in.

Please email your pet’s vaccination records to:  info@harmonypetresort.com with your dog’s name and “Vaccination Records” in the subject line.

Titres are accepted in lieu of vaccinations.
·         DHLPP:  Initial puppy shots required, Booster thereafter every one to three years.
·         Rabies:  At 16 weeks of age, thereafter, as required by law.
·         Bordetella:  Every 6 months or 24 hours prior to boarding.
·         Parainfluenza:  Usually given at 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age as part of the DA2PP schedule.
·         Canine Influenza Virus:  At least 3-4 weeks prior to boarding.  Canine Influenza is given yearly.

Should you need for your pet to be vaccinated at the Harmony Crossing Animal Hospital, they would like to see you and your pet before your visit with Harmony Pet Resort.  Please allow 15 minutes for this visit with Harmony Crossing Animal Hospital.

While vaccinations are very helpful in preventing the spread of infectious disease, they do not provide 100 percent protection.  Therefore, at Harmony Pet Resort we do our very best to ensure that our facility is as sanitary as possible.  We follow industry standard cleaning procedures and use a state-of-the-art HVAC system to ensure proper ventilation.  We also train our staff to be on the lookout for any signs of illness in any of the pets in our care.

Thank you

What happens during the training consultation?

You’ll meet one-on-one with a member of our professional training team to discuss your goals, challenges, and experiences. We’ll explain our processes, tell you about our programs and facility, and help determine the best training approach for your situation. This meeting is also the first step in developing your pet’s customized training program.

Can you work on a specific goal with my dog?

We’ve worked with dogs of all breeds, ages, and challenges, so we may be able to help with a particular challenge. When you come in for your free training evaluation, we’ll discuss how we can help.

Do you offer puppy training?

Absolutely. Starting training early is one of the most important things you can do for your dog. We offer a special puppy curriculum which builds a foundation for basic obedience, home manners, and early social skills.

What support can I expect after the program?

Our Board & Train programs include resource materials, informational packets, take-home exercises, and other helpful guidance to ensure your pup succeeds. This includes live phone or email support from our training team.

Can you work on my dog’s social skills?

Yes! Social skills are so important to developing a well-rounded dog. While we aren’t equipped to handle cases of extreme aggression, many of our programs have a social element so your dog can exercise his or her social skills with easygoing, friendly pups. For the young ones, we offer complementary puppy socialization to get them started off on the right paw.
